Erciyes Restaurant for Turkish Pizza!

Erciyes Restaurant has been operating for over 26 years and is a famous take-away place with the locals from Surry Hills. Moving Menus extends the Erciyes catchment area taking Erciyes food outside of the Surry Hills area into the Sydney CBD and inner-city suburbs for more people to enjoy. The Restaurant has changed hands a few times over the years but has always remained in the same family – the Saracoglu family. Now, the original owner’s son, wife and brother run the business, keeping all the secret family owned recipes exclusive to Erciyes Restaurant. The name of the restaurant comes from Mount Erciyes (tr. Erciyes Dağı), located 25 km south of Kayseri, Turkey. Erciyes is the highest mountain in central Anatolia (3916 metres) and has an extinct volcano located at its peak.

First up is the Kiymali pide which is a flat pide consisting of ground beef, onion, tomato, capsicum, parsley and spices. Let’s move to the Kusbasili pide next which is also a flat pide that has diced leg of lamb with onion, tomato, capsicum, parsley and spices. Do you like it HOT? Try the Sucuklu pide which is a folded pide that consists of Turkish sausage with garlic, egg and spices. Moving Menus highly recommends all the grills which are a great healthy option and are a large feed. The Lamb and Chicken Shish Grills are the most popular dishes ordered through Moving Menus. Marinated pieces of lamb fillet or chicken breast with a grilled mushroom, rice, salad and Turkish bread with some of our clients opting for a serve of homus to go on the grill.
